NASA will only select teams that are capable to create novel and game-changing food technologies or systems that require minimal inputs and maximize safe, nutritious, and palatable food outputs for long-duration space missions, and which have potential to benefit people on Earth.
A solution to avoid feeling spaced out on Earth and Mars
Vitamin Greens is based in the assumption that astronauts feel weird in the space due to their brain condition caused by the lack of gravity: brain fog, low concentration, mood swings… This condition of feeling spaced out is very similar to the brain condition of people with ADHD here on Earth.
A booster of vertical agriculture through indoor farms and portable grow devices
Vitamin Greens will solve vitamin nutrition gaps through personalized vertically farmed whole food.. The idea: cultivating fresh lettuce in vertical agriculture with a personalized vitamin composition that keeps the brain at peak performance. A system that can be implemented both on Earth and Mars.
A team of scientists and engineers joining forces to research about light spectrum and irrigation systems
Vitamin Greens team of plant scientists and engineers will research on using light spectrum and irrigation systems to adjust plants in controlled environments with the idea of providing customized vitamin composition for each plant in response to people’s biomarkers
An objective of 1.000.000 testers to prove the system on Earth so it’s reliable for Mars
Vitamin Greens will serve customized vitamine produce to 1M people (specially students) with ADHD and expect an improvement in their school marks that will show how their brain conditions get better. The objective: to prove the system on Earth so the astronauts trust it for Mars.
With the objective to become attractive to a modern and conscious audience, we’ve developed an informative but fresh and teenish corporate identity with some touches of activism and humor. The brand expression uses eye-catchy vibrant colors and big fonts to accompany the serious messages and footage and tells it’s story in a graphic novel format using vignettes and stickers.
As there was a requirement for an in-depth explanatory video, we’ve leveraged all the information and technical notes into an end-user language script and developed the whole concept and execution for it.
Additional brand touch points
Although they are still in beta phase, we’ve outlined the key touch points such as contents for social media, advertising examples and website.
The project involved a specific team of professionals from different fields that worked at high speed to meet the extremely short timing.
Project leader in charge of customer relations and project management. Additionally, he has participated in some specific phases related with brand strategy and positioning, conceptualization and scripts of videos and has led the development of brand expression and its implementation.
Art director in charge of the conceptualization and development of the brand’s visual identity as well as the deployment of the approved brand expression to all touch points.
